Warmer Weather Means More Sales
The real estate market certainly wouldn’t know that where a week away from Christmas when looking at the sales numbers and the market trends this week. While most of the country is knee-deep in snow, ice or just cold weather, the southern Florida area is booming with a good supply of inventory, stable house prices, and a good supply of buyers.
According to a recent article by realtor.com, “because of tight inventory, states in the West and South are expected to see home prices jumped by 40% over the next 12 months.” The highest price growth in the next year is expected in several states including Florida.
Florida has really been the brunt of a harsh real estate market over the last 10 years but is rapidly turning things around. We’ve had one of the best years in over five years and the Southwest Florida real estate market has seen an upturn not only in home prices back in inventory as well. New developers are excited to maintain a balance and yet keep up the supply for new homebuyers coming on the market. Many new communities, and gated neighborhoods, and developments including condominium high rises are making a huge comeback. Larger headquarters and major companies are moving to the Southwest Florida area such as the rental giant Hertz, to this is driving new traffic and new residents to our communities.
This is also one of the best times of year for real estate in general due to the fact that this is our most comfortable season. We may be sweltering in the summer but in the winter, we enjoy a fabulous 75 to 85° weather all day. This makes for perfect open houses, browsing neighborhoods with the top down, and enjoying our comfortable outdoor spaces.
So just because Christmas is around the corner that mean you need to take a break from real estate. Now would be a perfect time to start the process on buying or selling your home. Many homebuyers love to look at homes during the Christmas season and having them perfectly decorated all the more worthwhile.
